On 23 May 23 2022, the Public Health Agency for Northern Ireland (PHA NI) responded positively to our request.

The data show the number of days between hospital admission and a count of the number of first positive Covid-19 tests between 26 February 2020 and 18 May 2022. Some redactions were made due to smaller numbers to protect personal information.

PHA NI Results

The results reported  21,813 first positive tests between 26 February 2020 and 18 May 2022.

Of these, 10,174 (47%) patients had a positive test before admission, and 11,389 patients had a positive test as an admission.

Of the 11,389 hospital positive results, 51% were on the day of admission, and one-third occurred on day 8 or more (n=3,753).

We will conclude the series with one last post called “What does it all mean?” to keep the facts from our interpretation of them separate.
