I'd like to add one other point: the annual fear porn in the media in the seasonal vanguard of this crisis which has become a proper feature ESC (Ever Since Covid).

Vivian, ever since covid, well yes indeed. The cabal organizing these continuing vaccines learned how fear works to ensure more money for the wealthy investors. They saw how compliant we were when we were afraid. What else will suddenly be a death sentence if we don’t take the shot. Remember when we were told that herd immunity couldn’t be attained through this virus? Followed by the message that everybody needed to get the shot to attain herd immunity and get back to normal life. But when immunity wasn’t attained and the virus was still circulating they blamed it on the anti vaxxers. This was a well crafted plan they were in control of.
I am convinced that any impartial review of this issue would (in part) conclude that the UK does not have enough hospital beds to properly accommodate the extra admissions that occur every winter.
I also believe our government has concluded that providing this accommodation would be wasteful of resources that are better invested in making the service more efficient while facilitating our biomedical pharmaceutical industry.
This is a fundamental attitude that is ingrained in our cultural elites and is unlikely to change. It explains the 'blind eye' turned toward the service that lacked resilience during the pandemic and the evidence of financial waste (test and trace, lockdown, and emergency vaccination). It will continue as long as the service is centrally managed from Whitehall.
Could I add a few observations from nearly 50 years as a livestock Vet (and student.)
We have a Winter respiratory disease crisis in rearing cattle every year too....1 week after foggy November nights every year... on the dot. ( fog = nil / humid air movement)
It is primarily caused by a variety of similar factors as I see it.
"Stocking density" is too high on most farms.(ditto Hospitals)
Stress factors are also present. Weaning, castrating, bullying from new social groups, transport stress, markets etc etc (All similar 'stress' contributory factors except for the debility of old age....and castration !)
A variety of pathogens are involved, mainly viral but some bacterial and now we see mycoplasma pneumonias on highly stocked farms. 90% Aerosol spread.
We have used all manner of vaccines, some better than others. Intra nasal vaccines are better in my opinion due to local IgA mucosal effects.
What has altered most in my time is building design and ventilation..which if done well causes major reduction in respiratory disease/pneumonia...sometimes dramatically.
The Americans have designed some excellent buildings for cattle which has reduced transmission and clinical pneumonias to very low levels.
I would have liked to have seen the 32 billion totally wasted on "test n trace" spent on separate Winterflu' blocks at many hospitals, built with state of the art ventilation designs...as we are also regularly told there is another "pandemic"coming anytime. They could remain empty in the Summer months.
It would not then be business as usual each December.
